I’ve been writing and re-writing this letter over and over for almost 3 years. I’ve never gotten further than a few sentences. Everything has just remained in my head and in my heart, like a tsunami of thoughts and feelings. Although this can only be a small fraction of what can be said, and for reasons unknown to me, I’m ready now. A new beginning. So here it goes:
Danna passed away on March 9th, 2024, two months before her 38th birthday. She was diagnosed with Chondrosarcoma which was found in her leg in September of 2021. She then became the greatest warrior, until her last day here. I will tell that story as well.
For now, I just want to share with everyone who felt Danna’s magic in some way or another. Whether you were blessed to feel her hands or you had private conversations, or just a follower from afar. Danna literally lived to help others, to make others feel good, and to share what she believed in. She got tremendous joy from hearing good news from a friend, a client, or a follower. I know because I saw it firsthand, and she constantly told me. It’s mostly all she ever spoke about. That is the message I hope to express in this letter.
We opened Noy in a quaint little space, high up on Madison Ave. We were little, just like her. But she worked six days a week, seeing client after client after client. She always went over the time. I was always nervous, but she always walked out of the room with grace and confidence. Because she could never give someone less than her whole heart. Appointment times and durations were not her language. Then she grew into a giant, and we built her dream sanctuary. The most beautiful spa. Every square inch was filled with her essence. By the last few years, even though she was already in pain, we pretty much stopped booking specific appointments for her. There was no set price anymore, and there was no allotted time. It was usually just a few hours of intimate connection and joy.
Because of her health, and our kids, and the toll of travel, she eventually had to step back a bit. Throughout all this time, her voice and her presence started to grow beyond the Spa. Danna built an even larger community, from literally all four corners of the earth. This is where I saw the magic. It grew from literally one message, after another, after another, after another, until millions. And you all know who you are. Danna had private messages with people all day and even in bed late into the night, answering questions, giving advice, lending support, showing, teaching, explaining, and most of all just caring. It never turned off for her. She couldn’t. I’ve left a lot out, and in time I will continue to share. I hope you all do as well. It helps me. It helps our children. It helps everyone. It helps you.
Danna came here to serve, and she fulfilled that purpose tenfold. And now we will keep that light on. Always.- Dave ❤️
